సుందరకాండ.
అథ చతుఃపంచాశస్సర్గః||

శ్లో|| వీక్షమాణస్తతో లంకాం కపిః కృత మనోరథః|
వర్థమాన సముత్సాహః కార్యశేషచిన్తయత్||1||

స|| తతః కృతమనోరథః కపిః లంకాం వీక్షమాణః వర్ధమాన సముత్సాహః శేషం కార్యం అచిన్తయత్||

Then having achieved his objectives the Vanara looking at the city of Lanka with growing zeal thought over the remaining work.

శ్లో|| కిన్ను ఖల్వశిష్ఠం మే కర్తవ్య మిహ సాంప్రతమ్|
యదేషాం రక్షసాం భూయః సంతాపజననం భవేత్ ||2||
వనం తావత్ ప్రమథితం ప్రకృష్టా రాక్షసా హతాః|
బలైక దేశః క్షపితః శేషం దుర్గ వినాశనమ్||3||
దుర్గేవినాశితే కర్మ భవేత్సుఖపరిశ్రమమ్|
అల్పయత్నేన కార్యేఽస్మిన్ మమస్యాత్ సఫలః శ్రమః||4||
యోహ్యయం మమ లాంగూలే దీప్యతే హవ్య వాహనః|
అస్య సంతర్పణం న్యాయం కర్తుమేభిర్గృహోత్తమైః||5||

స|| యత్ ఏషాం రాక్షసామ్ భూయః సంతాప జననం భవేత్ కిం ను కర్తవ్యం మే ఇహ సాంప్రాతం అవశిష్టం|| వనం ప్రమథితం తావత్ ప్రకృష్టాః రాక్షసాః హతాః | బలైక దేశః క్షపితః | దుర్గవినాశనం శేషం||దుర్గే వినాశితే కర్మ సుఖపరిశ్రమమ్ భవేత్| అస్మిన్ కార్యే అల్పయత్నేన శ్రమః సఫలః స్యాత్|| మమలాంగూలే యః అయం హవ్యవాహనః దీప్యతే అస్య ఏభిః గృహోత్తమైః సన్తర్పణం కర్తుం న్యాయమ్||

'Presently the action that is left over as my duty is that action which will give more torment to these Rakshasas, The grove was destroyed. Powerful Rakshasas killed. One part of the army is destroyed. The destruction of the citadel is left. If the citadel is destroyed that action will be a happy conclusion. In this action success is there with a little effort. It is proper to satiate the fire burning on this tail with these best mansion'.

శ్లో|| తతః ప్రదీప్తలాంగూలః సవిద్యుదివ తోయదః|
భవనాగ్రేషు లంకాయా విచచార మహాకపిః||6||
గృహాద్గృహం రాక్షసానాం ఉద్యానానిచ వానరః|
వీక్షమాణో హ్యసంత్రస్తః ప్రాసాదాంశ్చ చచార సః||7||

స|| తతః ప్రదీప్తలాంగూలః మహాకపిః సవిద్యుత్ తోయదః ఇవ లంకాయాః భవనాగ్రేషు విచచార||సః వానరః ఉద్యానాని చ ప్రాసాదాశ్చ వీక్షమాణః అసన్త్రస్తః రాక్షసానాం గృహాత్ గృహం చచార||

Then Hanuman with his glowing tail, looking like a cloud with lightning, wandered on the top of the mansions in Lanka. That Vanara wandered without fear seeing the gardens and mansions , moving from one house to the other house of the Rakshasas.

శ్లో|| అవప్లుత్య మహావేగః ప్రహస్తస్య నివేశనమ్|
అగ్నిం తత్ర స నిక్షిప్య శ్వసనేన సమో బలీ||8||
తతోన్యత్పుప్లువే వేశ్మ మహాపార్శ్వస్య వీర్యవాన్ ||
ముమోచ హనుమాన్ అగ్నిం కాలానలశిఖోపమమ్||9||

స|| మహావేగః శ్వసనేన సమః బలీ వీర్యవాన్ సః ప్రహస్తస్య నివేశనం అవప్లుత్య తత్ర అగ్నిం నిక్షిప్య తతః అన్యత్ మహాపార్శ్వస్య వేశ్మ పుప్లువే హనుమాన్ కాలనలశిఖోపమమ్ అగ్నిం ముమోచ||

The mighty and speedy Hanuman , equalling the speed of Vayu, jumped on the mansion of Prahasta , setting the same to fire then jumped on the mansion of Mahaparsva. Hanuman looking like the fire at the time of dissolution set fire to the same.

శ్లో|| వజ్రదంష్ట్రస్య చ తథా పుప్లువే స మహాకపిః|
శుకస్య చ మహాతేజాః సారణస్య చ ధీమతః||10||
తథా చేన్ద్రజితో వేశ్మ దదాహ హరియూథపః|
జమ్బుమాలేః సుమాలేశ్చ దదాహ భవనం తతః||11||
రస్మికేతోశ్చ భవనం సూర్యశత్రోః తథైవ చ|
హ్రస్వకర్ణస్య దంష్ట్రస్య రోమశస్య చ రక్షసః||12||
యుద్ధోన్మత్తస్య మత్తస్య ధ్వజగ్రీవస్య రక్షసః|
విద్యుజ్జిహ్వస్య ఘోరస్య తథా హస్తిముఖస్య చ||13||

స|| మహాతేజాః సః మహాకపిః తదా వజ్రదంష్ట్రస్య శుకస్య ధీమతః సారణస్య చ పుప్లువే||హరియూథపః తథా ఇంద్రజితః వేశ్మ దదాహ|తతః జంబుమాలే సుమాలేశ్చ భవనమ్ దదాహ||రస్మికేతోశ్చ భవనం తథైవ రక్షసః సూర్యశత్రోః చ హ్రస్వకర్ణశ్చ దంష్ట్రశ్చ రోమశస్య చ(దదాహ)||రక్షసః యుద్ధోన్మత్తస్య మత్తస్య ధ్వజగ్రీవస్య విద్యుజ్జిహ్వస్య ఘోరస్య తథా హస్తిముఖస్య చ దదాహ||

The very brilliant and great Vanara jumped on the mansions of Vajradamshtra's, Suka's, wise Sarana's houses ( setting fire to the same). Then the best of Vanaras burnt the palace of Indrajit. Then he burnt Jambumaali's and Sumali's mansions. Then Rasmiketu's palace, similarly the mansions of the Rakshasas Hrasvakarna, DamShtra, Roma were burnt. Rakshasas Yuddhonmatta's, Matta's , DhvajagrIva's , Vidyujjihva's Ghora's similarly Hastimukha's mansions were burnt.

శ్లో|| కరాళస్య పిశాచస్య శోణితాక్షస్య చైవ హి|
కుంభకర్ణస్య భవనం మకరాక్షస్య చైవ హి||14||
యజ్ఞశత్రోశ్చ భవనం బ్రహ్మశత్రోః తథైవ చ|
నరాన్తకస్య కుంభస్య నికుంభస్య దురాత్మనః||15||
వర్జయిత్వా మహాతేజా విభీషణ గృహం ప్రతి|
క్రమమాణః క్రమేణైవ దదాహ హరిపుంగవః||16||

స|| కరాళస్య పిశాచస్య శోణితాక్షస్య చ ఏవ హి దదాహ| కుంభకర్ణస్య భవనం మకరాక్షస్య చ ఏవ దదాహ||యజ్ఞశత్రోః భవనం తథైవ బ్రహ్మశత్రోః చ నరాన్తకస్య కుమ్భస్య దురాత్మనః నికుంభస్యచ భవనం దదాహ|| మహాతేజా విభీషణ గృహం ప్రతి వర్జయిత్వా క్రమమాణః క్రమేనైవ హరిపుంగవః దదాహ||

Karala's , Pisacha's, Sonitaksha's mansions also were burnt. Kumbhakarna's palace, Makarakshasa's palace also were burnt. Yagnyasatru's mansion, similarly Brahmasatru's , Narantaks's, Kumbha's and the wicked Nikumbha's mansions were also burnt. Leaving the palace of the great Vibhishana proceeding in order the best of Vanara's burnt the mansions.

శ్లో|| తేషు తేషు మహార్హేషు భవనేషు మహాయశాః|
గృహేష్వృద్ధిమతాం వృద్ధిం దదాహ మహాకపిః||17||
సర్వేషాం సమతిక్రమ్య రాక్షసేంద్రస్య వీర్యవాన్|
అసదాథ లక్ష్మీవాన్ రావణస్య నివేశనమ్||18||

స|| మహాయశాః సః మహాకపిః రుద్ధిమతాం మహార్హేషు తేషు తేషు గృహేషు ఋద్ధిం దదాహ|| వీర్యవాన్ లక్ష్మీవాన్ సర్వేషాం సమతిక్రమ్య అథ రాక్షసేంద్రస్య రావణస్య నివేశనమ్ అససాద||

The great Vanara burnt the wealth in wealthy ones mansions.The heroic and illustrious one after crossing the residences of all the Rakshasas reached the palace of Ravana, the king of Rakshasas.

శ్లో|| తతస్తస్మిన్ గృహే ముఖ్యే నానారత్న విభూషితే|
మేరుమందర సంకాశే సర్వమంగళశోభితే||19||
ప్రదీప్త మగ్ని ముత్సృజ్య లాంగులాగ్రే ప్రతిష్టితమ్|
ననాద హనుమాన్ వీరో యుగాన్త జలదో యథా||20||

స|| తతః హనుమాన్ నానారత్న విభూశితే మేరుమందర సంకాశే సర్వమంగళ శోభితే తస్మిన్ ముఖ్యే గృహే లాంగూలాగ్రే ప్రతిష్టం ప్రదీప్తం అగ్నిం ఉత్సృజ్య యుగాన్త జలదే ననాద||

Then Hanuman set the palace decorated with different kinds of gems , filled with exquisite auspicious articles, a palace that was resembling mountains Mandara and Meru, on fire with tip of his burning tail. Then he roared like the thundering cloud at the time of dissolution.

శ్లో|| శ్వసనేన చ సంయోగాత్ అతివేగో మహాబలః|
కాలాగ్నిరివ జజ్వాల ప్రావర్ధత హుతాశనః ||21||
ప్రదీప్తమగ్నిం పవనః తేషు వేశ్మ స్వచారయత్|
అభూచ్ఛ్వసన సంయోగాత్ అతివేగో హుతాశనః||22||
తాని కాంచనజాలాని ముక్తామణిమయాని చ|
భవనాన్యవశీర్యన్త రత్నవన్తి మహాన్తి చ||23||

స|| శ్వసనేన సంయోగాత్ హుతాశనః అతివేగః మహాబలః ప్రావర్ధత | కాలాగ్నిః ఇవ జజ్వాల||పవనః ప్రదీప్తం అగ్నిం తేషు వేశ్మసు ఆచారయత్ | శ్వసనసంయోగాత్ హుతాశనః అతివేగః అభూత్|| కాంచనజాలాని ముక్తామణిమయాని చ రత్నవంతి మహన్తి చ తాని భవనాని అవశీర్యన్త||

The association of wind the fire grew rapidly. It glowed like the fire at the time of dissolution. Aided by the wind the the fire spread in the houses. Association with wind made the fire grow very fast.The golden mesh work along with studded pearls and gems and the big ones and the palaces came crashing down.

శ్లో|| సంజజ్ఞే తుములః శబ్దోరాక్షసానాం ప్రధావతాం|
స్వగృహ్వస్య పరిత్రాణే భగ్నోత్సాహోర్జితశ్రియామ్||24||
నూనమేషోఽగ్ని రాయాతః కపిరూపేణ హా ఇతి|
క్రన్దన్త్యః సహసాపేతుః స్తనన్థయధరాః స్త్రియః||25||
కాశ్చిదగ్ని పరీతేభ్యో హర్మ్యేభ్యో ముక్త మూర్థజాః|
పతన్త్యో రేజిరేఽభ్రేభ్యః సౌదామిన్య ఇవామ్బరాత్||26||

స||స్వగృహస్య పరిత్రాణే ప్రధావతాం భగ్నోత్సాహోర్జితశ్రియాం రాక్షసానామ్ నూనమ్ ఏషః అగ్నిః కపిరూపేణ ఆయాతః ఇతి తుములః శబ్దః సంజజ్ఞే ||కాశ్చిత్ స్త్రియః స్తనన్ధరాః ముక్తమూర్ధజాః క్రన్దన్త్యః అగ్నిపరీతేభ్యః హర్మ్యేభ్యః సహసా పేతుః| అంబరాత్ అభ్రేభ్యః పతన్యః సౌదామిన్యః ఇవ||

Running to protect their own houses, unable to protect them Rakshasa were saying 'surely the fire has come in the form of the Vanara. A tumultuous sound arose. Some women breast feeding their babies, with hair let loose, shouting jumped out of burning mansions. And they looked like the lightnings dropping from the clouds.

శ్లో|| వజ్రవిద్రుమ వైడూర్య ముక్తా రజత సంహితాన్|
విచిత్రాన్భవనాన్ దాతూన్ స్యన్దమానాన్ దదర్శ హ||28||
నాగ్నిః తృప్యతి కాష్ఠానాం తృణానాం చ యథా తథా |
హనుమాన్ రాక్షసేంద్రాణాం విశస్తానాం న తృప్యతి||29||
న హనుమాద్విశస్తానాం రాక్షసానాం వసున్ధరా||30||

స|| సః వజ్రవిద్రుమ వైడూర్య ముక్తా రజత సంహితాన్ విచిత్రాన్ భవనాత్ స్యన్దమానాన్ ధాతూన్ దదర్శ||యథా అగ్నిః కాష్టానాం తృణానాం న తృప్యతి తథా హనుమాన్ రాక్షసేంద్రాణాం విశస్తానాం న తృప్యతి||

He saw pearls and silver mixed with diamonds and colorful corals in molten form dropping from the palaces. Like the fire which was not satisfied with dry sticks and grass , Hanuman was not satisfied with the number of dead Rakshasa nor was the earth satisfied with the
number of Rakshasasa killed.

శ్లో|| క్వచిత్ కింశుకసంకాశాః క్వచిచ్ఛాల్మలిసన్నిభాః|
క్వచిత్కుంకుమసంకాశాః శిఖావహ్నేశ్చకాశిరే||31||
హనూమతా వేగవతా వానరేణ మహాత్మనా|
లంకాపురం ప్రదగ్ధం తత్ రుద్రేణ త్రిపురం యథా||32||

స|| వహ్నేః శిఖాః క్వచిత్ కింశుకసంకాశాః క్వచిత్ శాల్మలిసన్నిభాః క్వచిత్ కుంకుమ సంకాశాః చకాశిరే|| వేగవతా వానరేణ మహాత్మనా హనుమతా లంకాపురం రుద్రేణ త్రిపురం యథా ప్రదగ్ధమ్||

Flames of the fire shining at one place appeared like Kimsuka flowers, some other place appeared like Salmali flowers, and yet another place like Kumkum flowers. The speedy Vanara Hanuman burnt the city of Lanka like Rudra burnt down city of Tripura.

శ్లో|| తతస్తు లంకాపుర పర్వతాగ్రే సముత్థితో భీమపరాక్రమోఽగ్నిః|
ప్రసార్యచూడావలయం ప్రదీప్తో హనూమతా వేగవతా విసృష్టః||33||
యుగాన్త కాలానలతుల్యవేగః సమారుతోఽగ్నిర్వవృధే దివిస్పృక్|
విధూమరశ్మిర్భవనేషు సక్తో రక్షః శరీరాజ్యసమర్పితార్చిః||34||
ఆదిత్యకోటీసదృశః సుతేజా లంకాం సమస్తాం పరివార్య తిష్టన్|
శబ్దైరనైకై రశనిప్రరూఢైర్భిన్దన్ నివాణ్డం ప్రబభౌ మహాగ్నిః||35||

స||తత్ః వేగవతా హనుమాతా విశ్రుష్టః భీమపరాక్రమః అగ్నిః చూడావలయం ప్రసార్య ప్రదీప్తః లంకాపురపర్వతాగ్రే సముత్థితః||విధూమరస్మిః భవనేషు సక్తః సమారుతాగ్ని రక్ష్ః శరీరాజ్యసమర్పితార్చిః యుగాన్తకాలానలతుల్యవేగః వవృధే||ఆదిత్యకోటి సదృశః సుతేజాః సమస్తాం లంకాం పరివార్య తిష్టన్ మహాగ్నిః| అనైకైః అశనిప్రరూఢైః శబ్దైః అణ్డం భిన్దన్ ఇవ ప్రబభౌ||

The fire lit by the speedy Hanuman who has fierce valor, created circles of fires which rose to the mountain top on which city of Lanka was sitting. The fire without smoke from the mansions, fanned by the wind, fire from the Rakshasa bodies which were offered upto the fire , grew at the speed of the fire at the time of dissolution. The radiant fire appeared like crores of Suns, surrounding and standing on entire Lanka. It was glowing with sounds, like the sounds produced by Indra's thundebolt , as through whole universe was breaking.

శ్లో|| తత్రామ్బరాదగ్నిరతిప్రవృద్ధో రూక్షప్రభః కింశుకపుష్పచూడః|
నిర్వాణధూమాకులరాజయశ్చ నీలోత్పలాభాః ప్రచకాశిరేఽభ్రాః||36||
వజ్రీమహేంద్రస్త్రిదశేశ్వరో వా సాక్షాద్యమో వా వరుణోఽనిలో వా|
రుద్రోఽగ్నిరర్కో ధనదశ్చ సోమో న వానరోఽయం స్వయమేవ కాలః||37||

స|| తత్ర రుక్షప్రభః కింశుకపుష్పచూడః అగ్నిః అమ్బరాత్ అతిప్రవృద్ధః అభ్రాః నిర్వానధూమాకులరాజయః నీలోత్పలాభాః ప్రచకాశిరే||అయం వానరః న| వజ్రీ త్రిదశేశ్వరః మహేన్ద్రః వా సాక్షాత్ యమః వా అనిలో వా రుద్రః అగ్నిః అర్కః ధనదశ్చ సోమః స్వయం కాలః ఏవ వా||

The fire spread intense brightness like the kimsuka flowers shooting upto the sky. The clouds engulfed by the smoke rising froom the subsiding fire was shining like blue lotuses. ' ' This not a Vanara. It is wielder of thunder bolt, the lord of the gods, Indra or Yama himself or wind god, Rudra or fire god, Sun or Kubera or moon or the god of death himself '.

శ్లో|| కింబ్రాహ్మణః సర్వ పితామహస్య
సర్వస్య ధాతుశ్చతురాననస్య|
ఇహాsగతో వానర రూపధారీ
రక్షోపసంహారకరః ప్రకోపః||38||
కిం వైష్ణవం వా కపిరూపమేత్య
రక్షో వినాశాయ పరం సుతేజః|
అనన్తమవ్యక్త మచిన్త్య మేకమ్
స్వమాయయా సామ్ప్రత మాగతం వా||39||
ఇత్యేవమూచుర్భవో విశిష్ఠా
రక్షోగణాస్తత్ర సమేత్య సర్వే|
సప్రాణి సంఘాం సగృహాం సవృక్షామ్
దగ్ధాం పురీం తాం సహసా సమీక్ష్య||40||

Or is it Grand father Brahma the supreme four faced god, enraged and arrived in the form of a Vanara to kill the clan of Rakshasas. Or else the infinite , indescribable, unthinkable one Vishnu , the Supreme god of great glory assuming the form of a Vanara by virtue of his own Maya come here to destroy the Rakshasas. Seeing that the city with all its homes with trees including all creatures has been burnt , many eminent men and Rakshasa collected together and spoke to each other.

శ్లో|| తతస్తు లంకా సహసా ప్రదగ్ధా
సరాక్షసా సాశ్వరథా సనాగా|
సపక్షిసంఘా సమృగా సవృక్షా
రురోద దీనా తుములం సశబ్దమ్||41||
హా తాత హాపుత్త్రక కాన్త మిత్త్ర
హా జీవితం భోగయుతం సుపుణ్యమ్|
రక్షోభిరేవం బహుధా బ్రువద్భిః
శబ్దః కృతో ఘోరతరః సుభీమః||42||

స|| తతః సరాక్షసా సాశ్వరథా స నాగా సపక్షిసంఘాః స మృగా స వృక్షా లంకా సహసా ప్రదగ్ధా దీనా తుములం సుశబ్దం రురోద|| హా తాత హాపుత్త్రక హా కాన్త హా మిత్ర భోగయుతం సుపుణ్యం హా జీవితం బహుధా బ్రువద్భిః రక్షోభిః ఘోరతరః సుభీషః శబ్దః కృతః ||

Then with Lanka suddenly burnt along with Rakshasas, chariots with horses, with elephants with flocks of birds, with animals and trees , there arose a tumultuous piteous sound and they cried. Those Rakshasas speaking out in a terrific way made dreadful noise saying "Oh Father, Oh Son, Oh Dear,Oh Friend , that life which is enjoyable and pious has been destroyed '.

శ్లో|| హుతాశనజ్వాలసమావృతా సా
హతప్రవీరా పరివృత్త యోధా|
హనూమతః క్రోధ బలాభిభూతా
బభూవ శాపోపహతేవ లంకా||43||
ససంభ్రమత్రస్త విషణ్ణ రాక్షసామ్
సముజ్జ్వల జ్జ్వాలహుతాశనాంకితామ్|
దదర్శ లంకాం హనుమాన్మహామనాః
స్వయంభుకోపోపహతా మివావనిమ్||44||

స|| హుతాశనజ్వాలసమావృతా హతప్రవీరాః పరివృత్తయోధా హనూమతః క్రోధబలాభిభూతా సా లంకా శాపోపహతేవ బభూవ||మహాత్మనః హనుమాన్ ససంభ్రమత్రస్తవిషణ్ణరాక్షసామ్ సముజ్జ్వలజ్జ్వాల హుతాశనాంకితామ్ లంకాం స్వయమ్భూకోపోపహతాం అవనిం ఇవ లంకాం దదర్శ||

Engulfed in the flame spread by the fire god, with its heroes dead, with its retreating troops, with the power of the anger of Hanuman, the city of Lanka appeared as if it was cursed. Higly sensitive Hanuman saw the city of Lanka which succumbed to flames of fire god , with the Rakshasas perplexed scared and sorrowful, looked as if the earth was hit by the anger of Brahma.

శ్లో|| భఙ్‍క్త్వా వనం పాదపరత్నసంకులమ్
హత్వాతు రక్షాంసి మహాన్తి సంయుగే|
దగ్ధ్వా పురీం తాం గృహరత్న మాలినీమ్
తస్థౌ హనుమాన్ పవనాత్మజః కపిః||45||
త్రికూటశృంగాగ్రతలే విచిత్రే
ప్రతిష్టితో వానరరాజసింహః|
ప్రదీప్త లాంగూలకృతార్చిమాలీ
వ్యరాజతాssదిత్య ఇవాంశుమాలీ||46||

స||పవనాత్మజః హనుమాన్ పాదపరత్నసంకులం వనం భుంక్త్వా సంయుగే మహన్తి రక్షాంసి హత్వా గృహరత్నమాలినీం తాం పురీం దగ్ధ్వా తస్థౌ|| విచిత్రే త్రికూట సంగాగ్రతలే ప్రతిష్టితః ప్రదీప్త లాంగూలకృతార్చిమాలీ వానరరాజసింహః అంశుమాలీ ఆదిత్య ఇవ వ్యరాజత||

Hanuman the son of wind god having destroyed the grove full of excellent trees, having killed many Rakshasas, burning the city with rows of beautiful houses , stood there. On the wonderful peak of Trikuta , with a glowing tail, the lion among the Vanaras , shone like the Sun with its brilliant rays.

శ్లో|| స రాక్షసాం స్తాన్ సుబహూంశ్చ హత్వా
వనం చ భంక్త్వా బహుపాదపం తత్|
విసృజ్య రక్షోభవనేషు చాగ్నిమ్
జగామ రామం మనసా మహాత్మా||47||
తతస్తు తం వానరవీర ముఖ్యం
మహాబలం మారుతతుల్య వేగమ్|
మహామతిం వాయుసుతం వరిష్టం
ప్రతుష్టువుర్దేవగణాశ్చ సర్వే||48||

స|| మహాత్మా సః సుబహూన్ తాన్ రాక్షసాన్ హత్వా బహుపాదపమ్ తత్ వనం చ భంక్త్వా రక్షోభవనేషు అగ్నిం విశ్రుజ్య మనసా రామం జగామ||తతః వానరవీరముఖ్యం మహాబలం మారుతతుల్యవేగం మహామతిం వరిష్టం తం వాయుసుతం సర్వే దేవగణాః ప్రతుష్టువుః||

The great Vanara having killed many Rakshasas, having destroyed the grove with many trees , having set fire to many palaces of Rakshasas , reached Rama in his mind. Then all the Devas praised the mighty, very wise, efficient, chief of Vanara warriors, who has the speed of the wind god, who is the son of wind god.

శ్లో|| భఙ్‍క్త్వా వనం మహాతేజా హత్వా రక్షాంసి సంయుగే|
దగ్ధ్వా లంకాపురీం రమ్యాం రరాజ స మహాకపిః||49||
తత్రదేవాః సగంధర్వాః సిద్ధాశ్చ పరమర్షయః|
దృష్ట్వా లంకాం ప్రదగ్ధాం తాం విస్మయం పరమం గతాః||50||

స||మహాతేజః మహాకపిః వనం భంక్త్వా సంయుగే రక్షాంసి హత్వా రమ్యాం లంకపురీమ్ దగ్ధ్వా రరాజ||తత్ర సగంధర్వాః దేవాః సిద్ధాశ్చ పరమర్షయః దగ్ధాం తాం లంకాం పురీం దృష్ట్వా పరమమ్ విస్మయమ్ గతాః ||

The very brilliant and great Vanara shone having destroyed the grove, having killed the Rakshasas in the battle, having burnt the beautiful city. Then all the Devas with Gandharvas , Siddhas , great Rishis, seeing the city of Lanka burnt were very much wonder struck.

శ్లో|| తం దృష్ట్వా వానరశ్రేష్ఠం హనుమంతం మహాకపిం|
కాలాగ్నిరితి సంచిన్త్య సర్వభూతాని తత్రసుః||51||

స|| వానరశ్రేష్ఠం మహాకపిం తం హనుమంతం దృష్ట్వా కాలాగ్నిః ఇతి సంచిత్య సర్వభూతాని తత్రసుః||

Seeing Hanuman the best of Vanaras as if he were the fire at the time of dissolution all the beings were terrified.

శ్లో|| దేవాశ్చ సర్వేమునిపుంగవాశ్చ
గంధర్వవిద్యాధరనాగయక్షాః|
భూతాని సర్వాణి మహాన్తి తత్ర
జగ్ముః పరాం ప్రీతిమతుల్యరూపామ్||52||

స||తత్ర సర్వే మునిపుంగవాశ్చ గంధర్వవిద్యాధరనాగయక్షాః మహంతి సర్వాణి భూతాని అతుల్యరూపాం పరాం ప్రీతిం జగ్ముః||

Then all the sages, Gandharvas, Vidyaadharas, Nagas , Yakshas, all the creatures experienced great happiness.

ఇత్యార్షే శ్రీమద్రామాయణే ఆదికావ్యే వాల్మీకీయే
చతుర్వింశత్ సహస్రికాయాం సంహితాయామ్
శ్రీమత్సుందరకాండే చతుఃపంచాశస్సర్గః ||

Thus ends the Sarga fifty four of Sundarakanda in Ramayana the first poem ever composed in Sanskrit by the first poet sage Valmiki
